Celebrating all the things people in Leeds are doing as we stand together against coronavirus.

Say your Big Thank You here

From staff and carers on the frontline, to the people who remove our rubbish and keep the power on, from food suppliers keeping shelves stocked and deliveries coming, to volunteers looking out for the more vulnerable people in your area; there has never been a better time to show your appreciation for the key workers and carers in our community.

If you’d like to show your support for frontline staff, key workers and those delivering key services across the city, please share your Big Thank You message here.

A Big Thank You to The people of Leeds

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has contributed across the health system and in the community to using antibiotics appropriately to help in the fight against antibiotic resistance. This means we can ensure antibiotics are effective when we really need them. Winter’s a great time to remind people that antibiotics aren’t effective against common infections such as a cold.

A Big Thank You to Gerard savva

My bro has made a massive difference in my life and I wouldn’t be here without him, he’s not just my bro he’s my best friend and has raised money for children’s charity’s since I lost my daughter, his niece when he was 15, he’s an inspiration and not just my winter hero he’s my all seasons hero and I love him all the world xxx

A Big Thank You to Maureen Lillywhite

Id like to say a really big thank you to Maureen who works hard all year round working within communities in Leeds. In particular the work she does with those who struggle both before and after the Christmas period. She works tirelessly to make sure that as many people as possible receive something at Christmas whether this be a Christmas hamper, food and clothes donations, winter warmers for the elderly and toys for children all so that families and elderly who struggle don't go without. Community lunches are also something Maureen and the team she works with pull together which are especially important over the winter period which is a time where many are often socially isolated. These lunches provide time for those vulnerable groups to be brought together in a warm, festive environment to enjoy a meal together and the opportunity to participate in activities. The work Maureen does is invaluable and I'm sure those who know her would agree. Thank you Maureen!

A Big Thank You to LGI

Thank you to all the incredible staff at LGI who have been there for my daughter from the moment she was born - the paediatric team, cardio team, neonatal nurses and GP! Not to mention the doctors, nurses and community midwife who have looked after me!! The NHS really is amazing and was there when I really needed it!
